I’m an older 90’s Man. I’ve been taking riociguat for 4 years and have been experiencing the same symptoms. I’m diagnosed with Codeine-like gingivostomia. I’ve been told by my GP that this is due to an enzyme called COX-2 going up in me. Is this true and I’m not sure.

I had riociguat before. It’s brand name cetirizine. Ive taken it I believe for 7 years and have experienced extreme relaxation. Codeine is why I’m allergic to it. Ive been taking it every day for 4 years and have experienced a deep level of pain and discomfort. I immediately wanted to take a look

The Food and Drug Administration is advising consumers not to purchase or use Celebrex®, a prescription drug used to treat pain and inflammation. The safety and effectiveness of Celebrex have been established through clinical trials and research. The FDA’s approval of Celebrex comes more than a decade after it was the first approved prescription drug for pain and inflammation. Celebrex was developed by Merck, Inc., which was approved in May 2015 by the Food and Drug Administration to treat arthritis and other inflammatory conditions, and has since been available in both prescription and over-the-counter forms. Merck has spent more than $3.6 billion on the drug since it was approved in 2002. In 2012, the drug was approved for pain relief.
Although the drug is available over-the-counter, some consumers may have questions about its safety, particularly when it comes to dosing. The FDA has issued warnings about dosing of Celebrex in patients who have used it for more than three years or those who have taken it for more than five years.

In August 2017, the FDA approved the first prescription drug for the treatment of arthritis in children ages six months to 12 years. The first prescription drug to be approved for the treatment of arthritis was a generic version of Aleve, an arthritis medicine manufactured by Pfizer Inc. It has been available for more than three years and is expected to be approved for the treatment of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Celebrex is indicated for the treatment of pain and inflammation in adults and pediatric patients aged 12 months and older.
“This product is the first prescription drug to be approved for this indication for the treatment of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in children ages six months to 12 years,” said Dr. Hough.
“The FDA has continued to monitor the safety and effectiveness of this drug in pediatric patients and its approval will allow us to continue our efforts to provide a more affordable and accessible treatment option to those living with these conditions.”
Celebrex is available in three strengths: 10 mg, 20 mg, and 40 mg capsules.
Celebrex 200mg capsule contains the active ingredient Celecoxib. It belongs to the family known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID), and specifically a sub-group known as cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitors. It is used in adults for the relief of signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. In conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, excess production of prostaglandins by your body can lead to pain and inflammation. This medicine works by decreasing the production of prostaglandins, effectively reducing pain and inflammation.
Do not take Celebrex 200mg capsule if you are allergic to Celecoxib or any of its ingredients. Inform your doctor if you had reactions to sulfonamide medicines, suffer from ulcers or bleeding in the stomach or intestines, or experienced adverse reactions to NSAID medications like aspirin. Before starting the treatment, inform your doctor because it is recommended to not take this medicine if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding. Do not take this medicine if you have severe liver or kidney disease, have inflammatory intestinal conditions, or have heart-related issues such as heart failure, heart disease, or circulation problems. Additionally, if you have had surgeries on leg arteries or have a history of blood circulation problems, this medicine usage should be avoided. This contains lactose. If you are sugar intolerant, consult your doctor before using this product. This medicine is for adults only, it is not for use in children.
Inform your doctor about if you have a history of stomach or intestinal ulcers or bleeding (avoid if currently present), are on acetylsalicylic acid or antiplatelet therapies, use blood clotting or corticosteroid medications, or simultaneously use other non-acetylsalicylic NSAIDs like ibuprofen. Report your doctor if you have conditions such as smoking, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, compromised heart, liver, or kidney function, fluid retention, dehydration, past severe allergic reactions to medications, ongoing infections, or are over 65 years old. Monitoring may be necessary. Notably, Celebrex 200mg capsule could mask fever or infection signs. Remember, alcohol combined with NSAIDs may increase gastrointestinal risks.

Report any unexplained fatigue (e.g., calmness or feeling of well-being), high or low blood pressure, depression, anxiety, or panic to your doctor. Celecoxib may also cause temporary nausea and vomiting.
Do not use Celebrex 200mg capsule if you have:
- rheumatoid arthritis - if you have had an allergic reaction to Celebrex 200mg or any of its ingredients, including aspirin, an allergic reaction to aspirin, or sulfonamides.
